Well, on Sunday, my throat started to hurt. The next morning, it was even worse and I didn't feel like trying to deal with it at school. Tuesday comes around, and not only is the burning throat worse, but a cough has accompanied it. Today Mom had me come to the doctor's for a strep test. 100% negative. Doctor looked at me. It could be one of two things: some random virus or a mild case of... the swine flu. I don't think I'll be going back to school any time soon, either way, but I'm not looking forward to the crapload of homework that will be greeting me when I get back...

In other news, I will be joining thousands across the nation in this year's National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. I've already signed up with an AMAZING story in mind. I want to start writing it, but I can't until November 1st, darn it.

And for those of you that don't already know, my boyfriend with the whacked-out back broke up with me for some annoying girl who once told me that she didn't like him very much. This happened the second week of school, and I'm still ticked. Oh, well. I've dealt with this kind of shit before, so it shouldn't be any different from that... Also in September, on the third day of school, during the football game, some idiot decided to knock my clarinet off the bleachers, shattering the top portion of the mouthpiece. I'd had a bad day to begin with, and this didn't make things any better. So after I was done complaining to my good friend, Melanie, my band director actually had a new mouthpiece, same brand, and gave it to me, free of charge. He was even so kind as to drive me home afterward! Of course, my day didn't end there. Right after I got to my front door, I got sprayed by a skunk that was eating the cat food my mom left for our outdoor kitties. Luckily, I managed to get in the shower and scrub my arm off before it started to react. Shame that it got my shoes, too; we washed them in a baking soda/vinegar/dish soap mix to get the smell out. My shoes still smell like vinegar, but at least I've gotten used to it, now.
